Bocconi Students Management Club

Where management becomes practice

We are the student association that explores management across all of its areas. Four divisions, two functional areas, one calendar of business cases, debates, conferences and aperitivi — open to every Bocconi student curious about how companies really work.

Who we are

Who we are

We do not write articles. We build the rooms where management is discussed, argued and understood.

BSMC is a student-run association at Bocconi University dedicated to management in all of its aspects. Everything we produce is an experience: business cases worked through together, debates with two sides and a real disagreement, conferences with people who do the job, and aperitivi where the conversation carries on informally.

Our events — both open to the whole campus and reserved to members — are designed so that any Bocconi student passionate about management can deepen the topics they care about, sharpen their preparation across different fields, discover new industries and companies, and understand what the day-to-day actually looks like inside those companies and inside the roles they hold.

Four divisions

The Divisions

Every member joins one division. Each division is led by a Head, supported by its Team Directors, and is free to shape its own events, cases and debates around the interests of its members.

Accounting

Financial statements, reporting standards and control. Accounting is where a company tells its own story in numbers — the division learns to read it, question it and use it to judge performance.

  • Financial statements
  • Reporting
  • Control

Corporate Finance

Valuation, capital structure and the financial decisions that shape a company. The division reads real cases from the outside — published accounts, announced transactions, public numbers — to follow the reasoning that turns a spreadsheet into a strategic choice.

  • Valuation
  • M&A
  • Company analysis

Marketing

Brand, positioning, consumer behaviour and go-to-market. From launch strategies to brand crises, the division reads the market from the side of the people who buy — and of the companies that need them to.

  • Brand strategy
  • Consumer insight
  • Go-to-market

Strategy

Competitive positioning, growth options and the logic behind corporate decisions. Strategy works mostly through cases and structured debates: a real company, a real dilemma, an argued recommendation.

  • Business cases
  • Consulting
  • Industry deep dives
Functional area

Events

Plans, organises and runs the club calendar — from conferences with external guests to internal case nights and aperitivi. It works both autonomously and shoulder-to-shoulder with the divisions that propose the content.

Functional area

Content & Media

Builds and publishes everything that carries the club's voice on our social channels: visual identity, event communication, recaps and formats. Every division's work reaches the campus through this area.

What we organise

What we organise

Four formats, one purpose: understanding management by practising it.

01

Business cases

Real companies, real decisions. Teams work the problem and defend a recommendation.

02

Debates

Two positions, one moderator, no comfortable consensus. The format that sharpens thinking fastest.

03

Conferences & talks

Guests who actually hold the roles we study, on what their day-to-day really looks like.

04

Aperitivi & networking

The informal half of the association — where the conversation keeps going after the event ends.
